The ruins as a poetic possibility for contemporary architecture

Abstract

In an age of globalization in the world, in which the concepts of authenticity and identity seem to have no more meaning, the ruins still allow the architecture to take on a meaning. This is sought in the relation with the past, with individual and collective memory and with the ruins' ability to arouse emotions.
